QUICKIE COMMISSIONS, Round 3 :Minor Edit:

Mon Aug 17, 2009, 8:21 AM
For a third time, I'm going to offer "Quickie" Commissions again:

- Any character you want for $50 straight up. Two characters on a single page will run you $80-90, depending on the complexity. You drop it in my PayPal account (BLMcKinney@aol.com), you get your sketch in a matter of days. 1 week tops.

- The end result will be something like the pieces I did last time. Or they might not :) . I'm going to try a couple of different styles like Marker and maybe water color. I'll leave it up to you. Tell me what you want me to try:
+ Pen & Ink w/ Digital Colors
+ Pen & Ink w/ Marker Colors
+ Pen & Ink w/ Watercolors

- All pieces will be delivered as Hi-res digital art. If you would like the original art I just need an extra $10 bucks. Highly recommended for Marker and Watercolor pieces.

- If the character is your own design (for instance from a game i.e. City of Heroes) please send me some reference.

- If you don't like my first try, I can do one fix for you. I can't totally start from scratch, but I want it to be a piece you'll like.

- ::EDIT:: OK, Just to let everyone know: I'm a lazy typist. I copied and pasted a previous Journal where I announced Quickies from last year, thus the open date was until October 19th. My fault, I suck. I have to close the QUEUE on August 28th, and will hold your place until October 19th. In other words, if you want a piece but can't swing the cost until October, put your name in the queue and you have intil 10/19 to finish the deal. Make sense? No? Damn, I'm confused now too... ::End EDIT::

- Send me a note if you're interested! Hop on the queue now!

Thank you to all who have taken part in previous commission sales, and thank you in advance to those who are taking part in this one.

Truly sad news -- Angel Yates - Rest in Peace

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 5:51 PM
I just received news of the passing of a great student, an extremely talented artist and a loving mother and wife.

Angel Yates was in my Storyboard class over a year ago, but I still remember her as a brilliant student that stood out with her charming characters and exceptional drawing skills. She just graduated from the Art Institute of Tampa about three weeks ago. She was just embarking on her artistic career where she would have excelled.

I'll be honest -- if you totaled the amount of time that we actually spoke, it would be less than an hour. But you can get a sense of the person in that time and Angel was a special student and a special person. She worked nights as a police dispatcher and spent her very limited free time creating some beautiful artwork. Please go to her Deviant page and take a look: :iconinqy:

You shouldn't have to hear about your students passing away this soon. The teachers at AIT will miss you Angel.

Yo JOE!

Thu Apr 23, 2009, 6:35 PM
So if you check out [link] (AdultSwim.com), you can see some 5 minute episodes of a brand new and bad-ass GI JOE cartoon. I was lucky enough to get to work on a few episodes, two of which were posted today (9 & 10).

The director is :icon2-cents: 2-cents (Joaquim Dos Santos), a fellow DA member. He did an amazing job with the designs and visual look of the whole show. Go check out his sight and tell him what a bang-up job he did on it.

So give the episodes a look at set your DVR to record Adult Swim Saturday night April 25th at Midnight to see the whole thing put together. You won't regret it.

Promoting some great Art Buddies

Wed Nov 12, 2008, 6:02 PM
Hello everyone. I wanteed to post a couple of websites of some friends of mine:

Christopher Schenk :iconvisualbabel: : [link]
christopher.schenck@gmail.com

Chris and I shared a studio with some other guys (one of whom is Jeff Johnson :iconjohnsonverse:) back in California. He's been my boss, I've been his and he's a really talented dude.

Alexis Ziritt: [link]
ziritt@gmail.com

Alexis graduated from the Art Institute of Tampa where I teach part time. He has an amazing way with the brush pen and creating unique, evocative pieces with it.

Have a gander, appreciate some fine artwork and if you have a few sheckles and want to get a commission from one or both of them, it'll be well worth it. Telkl them I said "Hi"
